There are some nasty changes going on at eBay, just as I started getting going there. For one thing, sellers with less than 100 feedback are going to get much less prominence in the search ratings than the power sellers, many of whom are large companies doing dollar store types of stuff. I heard about those changes... While I don't use eBay (lack of credit card and all), I'd like to someday (preferably once I can get Diablo II again and can start selling rare items for real cash :p), and this'll make it awfully hard to get started. It seems to be turning into a rather elitist auction site now. I can understand wanting to give long-time users the first go at things, and statistics-wise, they're more likely to be trustworthy than some random person starting out, but it really doesn't make for good business. A good tactic in business is to pull in new people, not cater only to your regulars. (I've I've learned anything from working as a retail monkey for years, it's that ( ... )

Yeah. One of the articles about it joked that they wondered which of the other auction sites that were trying to catch up to eBay appreciated this lifeline being thrown to them ( ... )
