I miss documentaries and nature shows. They're the biggest thing that I miss about not having cable TV. But neither my roommate nor I can convince ourselves that it'd be worth it to pay $40 a month to watch maybe an couple of hours of documentaries a week when we have time. :/ Maybe resorting to buying them on DVDs is a good way to go. At least I'd get to watch something new, and learn something while I'm at it, so my brain doesn't rot!
Oh, it is so much more convenient to have them on DVD. The time to watch them is my choice, I can share them with others on their schedule, and I used to like to have a bunch of them stacked back to back on videos when I was an artist in New Orleans. I'd draw to nature documentaries. When I get some on big cats, raptors and jungles and stuff in addition, I'll probably do the same thing I did now.
Cable isn't worth it if you're not a heavy television watcher. It boils down to that. And you never actually miss something if you're getting them on DVD, it doesn't come up in the middle of your busiest week or something.
