Culture clash

The bears do not have the hotel to ourselves. The hotel's events coordinator has booked a baby shower into one of the multipurpose rooms that we're not using. The big ballroom is used by a local Seventh Day Adventists on Saturday for their worship service. I think there's even a wedding reception going on today. I have mixed feelings about it. I have avoided bear events since 1997 when I attended Bear Pride in Chicago. The shenanigans that were going on in the pool and other public spaces were highly embarrassing to me, so much so that I've never been to another event. Were guys smooching or groping in the pool. If so, I'd pull my son too. It is a public place.

I remember Berlin in 1999. We had the entire (gay-owned, I believe) hotel to ourselves ... one evening there was a dark-room party in the basement ... ;-)

The bears have been very well behaved. I saw a couple bathing suits of questionable taste but nothing too revealing.
