Young people drink cask ale too!

Hey Rob, nice to see you've joined CAMRA, even if your enthusiasm is less than wholehearted ;). Though an armchair (pub couch?) member myself off and on, and real ale drinker ever since student days (it was a feck of a sight cheaper than the keg stuff, and a whole lot tastier), I'd not been to the Nottingham festival when it was held in Sneinton as a) Sneinton has a bad rep, and b) it was too much of a PITA to get there from W Nottingham. However, I went for the first time last year when it moved to the Castle, and it was the dog's bollocks (and I don't mean the beer of that name), the cat's whiskers, the kipper's knickers, and the rest. Beer-bellied middle-aged beardies were well outnumbered by 'normal' people, including a lot of young drinkers, students and locals, as many women as men. There were so many fit young women around it was hard concentrating on the ales on sale, though having my GF in attendance kept my attention mostly to the task at hand

And yes, I am definitely going this weekend (Friday), I just hope the forecast is wrong.
