It was embarrasingly simple. I have a stoneware pie plate which helped make the crust flakey. I've heard that some glass or metal pie plates may hold the moisture and make a soggy.
I got the pie crust and other ingredients from the store, and used a recipe found on a can of pumpkin pie mix.
Tonight was the test pie and I won't change a thing for it. Id recommend giving it a shot but consider making a test to see if it turns out alright.
