Nope. Despite the commonly spread idea that "get married=citizenship" its not actually that straightforward or easy, in either direction.
But it should go a long long way towards helping the issue and is one of the major reasons we did it now rather than holding off till later or just never doing it.. (Proof that we've been dating for two years was a biggie.) We'll be doing a bunch of paperwork and getting the process going shortly, but that could still take as much as two years because bureaucracy. But it'd be nice to not *have* to cross the border, and to at least have the *option* of getting a part time job here.
Similarly, it'd be nice to be able to drag Lisa to the US and have her be able to get a job there if we end up wanting/needing to move for any number of reasons.
