Oscar had started early, this time knowing for sure that he would be able to stock the place as he wished for today - not just as they remembered. It was such a tiny point, mainly because the way he remembered had all the food that they could need. However, there were little things - the spoils of the victorious shopping expedition at a gourmet grocery store near his home: Capers, Russian Beluga -"Malossol" caviar, a brie medium in firmness, just the right crackers, and salmon pate.

The door was wide open and wonderful smells could be sniffed out. The fireplace and almost all lights were on in the house and Oscar was in the kitchen putting the last touches on the platter of snacks.

A lobster feast for two (which was prepared by a caterer), complete with a well stocked bar, was set up in the dining room, warmed until ready. It did take much of the day to do this.

Robbie's grin remained plastered on his face as he leaned against the doorframe and looked at what Oscar had put together on the table.

A brief thought flittered through his brain.

This is how it should have been.

He slipped into the kitchen, his arms crossed, and laughed quietly.

"When did you learn to cook lobster, Oscar?" he teased.

"When I figured out how to hire a caterer chef in my time," Oscar chuckled, dabbing the last bit of salmon pate onto a fresh serving bowl surrounded by other bowls and crackers. Oscar's suit was a loose tux, minus the tie and waist band, with the first few buttons on his collar, undone.

"I hope you are as hungry as you are amused." Oscar winked, reaching out to wipe his hand with a fresh towel.

Robbie is still in his business suit, looking the picture of early 20th century propriety.

"I forgot lunch," he says by way of explanation. "I've fallen behind at the gallery and chose to work instead of eat, so, yes. I suppose I could say I am as hungry as amused, though had you been wearing an apron, the amusement might have won over the hunger."
