Lamentations of the Single Class.

I suppose it was inevitable that the day would come where I would receive a wedding invitation from an ex-girlfriend. The invitation itself was actually kind of flattering, as invitations generally tend to be; however, the implication of "A Wedding Invitation from Someone Whom I Have Dated" sunk in earlier today amid the other daily complexities, ( Read more... )

You could always pick up one of the bride maids at the reception? Unless y'all are incredibly close, I don't see why you got invited to the wedding. No offense to you! I get the feeling she has a long registry list at Crate and Barrel. And probably a very long wedding guest list to match.

Or I could be completely wrong as usual.

We're on good terms, so if the wedding were happening after I got back, then I'd totally go, but I don't come back to Virginia until three days after the fact.

Yes, but did she marry the one she dated after you? That's a much more exclusive club that I (and I think several of our friends) can count ourselves members of.

It's totally normal to be weirded out by an ex getting married. I don't want to be married/don't have any prospects at the moment either, but it still weirds me out too. That doesn't necessarily lead to the conclusion that YOU were undateable.

I miss you and our porch chats. Let's throw a welcome home party for when you come back?

Really though, this happens to everyone. And you can be morose about it or realize that one day you will be in their position too.

Just a thought.

And I realize I am one of "your exes", but really- do you picture me getting married or moving in with anyone anytime soon? Notta.
