I really have no idea why religious conservatives take offense when people ask politicians to keep the church and state separate. Nobody's saying "satan rules, fuck jesus christ" or anything, they're just saying keep one belief separate from political business transactions. But then again I've always wondered why people don't keep their religious beliefs to themselves in the first place, atheist or otherwise.

if everyones to keep their religious beliefs to themselves, then christmas should be kept indoors. no manorahs anywere (sp?) no lights, stars, decorations anywhere and DEFINITLY no trees around.

well i don't know about that. I know christmas lights and trees all have stakes in religious tradition but I think time has all but secularized them to just cultural tradition. I know christmas is a religious holiday but I'm in no rush to go to church over it. I'm happy decorating and putting lights up without any religious backing as a reason at all.
