So I recently swore I'd be making more intelligent comments. But I feel like it's invasive to make... deeply thoughtful, speculative comments upon the relationship of Ash and Roa. I just like to read it. So... <3.
That Ashwin expects Roa to listen to him in four decades-- such optimism! That he thinks four decades out-- also optimism. I like that he looks that far out, and can imagine an end in sight. He grounds Roa, somewhat, I think, with this kind of thing. (For which I ought to be grateful.)
His intuition for R'vain interests me always. Would be nice if you'd listen to me on it, but if not, I've got the Weyrleader to back me on it. And he will. And Roa's unhappy groan-- like she shares his intuition, accepts its likely correctness.
I like Roa's private Oh fuck and her understanding that this is not the place to say it, however much she needs to say it. She denies herself something, there.
