"Ridiculous?" Lyra repeated, even as she couldn't help but smile. "I think you look good in it." Of course she had said it earlier-and the first time she had seen the suit-but some things were worth repeating and this was one of them.

As much as Silver had complained and was still complaining, what matters was that he was here in the end. Scanning the crowd, Lyra looked for familiar faces and spotted a few in the sea of strangers. But, first... "Thirsty?"

"Not particularly," he replied, allowing Lyra to guide him by the arm. She'd hooked him earlier on; in an attempt, he assumed, to prevent him from bolting. Not that he'd stoop to anything like that, though he was sorely tempted.

"And I meant that this whole thing is ridiculous. Not just the suit."

"Even with the hundreds of people already here?" Lyra asked knowingly as she swept the large room with her gaze, mentally noting the names and faces of people, some friends, some acquaintances, whom she would have to speak to later, once she had Silver settled in.

Taking his not particularly as a positive reply, she then tugged a little on his arm and walked, leading towards the tables where food and beverages lay.

"Especially with the hundreds of people already here," Silver answered and, unlike Lyra, he attempted to make as little eye contact with any of the other guests.

He still followed in her footsteps as she wandered closer to the refreshments table - not that he had much choice in the matter, of course.

May had been on her way to the little girl's room when she'd gotten a little sidetracked by the food, and had picked out a delicate plate of cakes and truffles--before she remembered the original reason she'd separated from the rest of the group. Of course, now she felt bad for taking as much as she had, and with the intention of finding some starved, unfortunate fellow to give the food to, she wandered to a less crowded area of the room, scanning the edges for any wallflowers that stood out to her ( ... )

Silver gave May a withering look, before plucking a truffle from the plate she was holding - he couldn't help himself, really, they looked pretty tasty. He hadn't noticed her approaching until it was too late; that was what he got for staring at the floor.

"Because being in a room of strangers I will ultimately have to pretend to be interested in both entertains and piques my enthusiasm. Can't honestly think of anything I'd rather be doing." He paused for a moment. "Oh wait..."

"I'm sure there are plenty of strong and interesting trainers here," May pointed out, with a vague motion of her head at the rest of the room. "You could easily find an exciting new friend! Well--easily once you drop that frown, mister. Did you know that your facial expression can actually affect your mood?"

"If it's reflecting my frustration or general irritation, then I don't care," Silver replied - and unconsciously found his hand going for another truffle. What? They were good. "So. Who did you come with? That one guy uh. You know... with the thing?"

Erika had walked around, occasionally saying hi to a few of the trainers and gym leaders he recognized. She had brought out her Bellossom by now, because Leafeon was too tired from all the walking.

While looking around the mass crowd of people, she saw a red-haired boy standing on the side. He seemed familiar, and Erika was somewhat sure he challenged her a while back. She walked over to introduce herself.

"...Hello, I'm Erika, from the Celadon city gym. It seems that you have challenged me before, am I correct?"

Bellossom looked slightly intimidated by the boy, and stayed close to Erika.

OOC: I read your profile, and it mentioned Silver going around the regions to gain badges, so I assumed he got Erika's badge as well. I hope you don't mind

If anyone had mentioned that Silver was brooding out loud, he'd have verbally bitched them out within a moment; but that was exactly what he was doing. Brooding. He was utterly convinced that May was out to ruin his life and that was just-

He looked up at the sound of a voice right beside him. He hadn't even noticed her approaching him. "Yeah," he replied, sounding a little gruff - he vaguely remembered the Gym Leader. "I did."

It seemed he wasn't going to catch a break today - he'd hidden over in this corner to get away from people, but now he was being more sociable as a result. And where the hell was Lyra anyway? She was just supposed to be getting a stupid cake.

[ooc: I don't mind at all ♥ Sorry I took so long to reply; I wanted to wind up the thread with May first.]

Two stupid strawberry cakes sat on Lyra's plate beside the two peach ones that were recommended by a friend she had met while picking the strawberry shortcakes. The reason she had stayed for so long at the refreshments table was also due to catching up with said friend but now she was making her way to the corner where Silver was...

...not alone. She recognized the other person Silver was with immediately; it wasn't hard, seeing how gym leaders were local celebrities and in her travels she had heard much about them.

Smiling, she walked up to the two of them, carefully walking around so as to not scare the Bellossom. "I'm back," Lyra said cheerfully, offering the plate to Silver as she turned to face the gym leader. "Hello! You're Erika, right?"

Erika nodded, unable to continue the conversation any farther. It seemed that the trainer didn't want to introduce himself, and Erika felt kind of embarrassed by walking up to him so suddenly. Suddenly, a cheery girl came up to the group, offering a piece of cake to the boy. Bellossom was slightly relaxed; she didn't look as intimidating.

Erika couldn't remember where she had seen the girl before, but she looked vaguely familiar. She wasn't a trainer... so perhaps someone else? Erika looked apologetic, since she couldn't remember who she is, and this girl seemed to know her.

"Yes, I am Erika. However, I don't think we have met before... I'm terribly sorry, would you mind introducing yourself?"

Of course Green wouldn't be at a party like this without a beautiful lady on his arm, but since May was busy being a social butterfly, he'd picked up another companion instead. He was scanning the crowd, looking for people to introduce her to, when he saw May bouncing away from someone. "Oh, there's-" but then a flash of red caught his eye, and his smile went from pleased to mischievous in a flash. "-A good friend of mine. This way."

He navigated easily through the crowd, quickly reaching Silver and wrapping a heavy arm around his shoulder. "Hey, man. Having fun in the corner over here?"

Surely May couldn't have got back to Green that quickly? He was pretty sure she didn't have any kind of super powers that resulted in her moving faster than a... ninja. But whatever. He was here, with his arm around him. Be that from May's super powers or a coincidence. Whatever.

"Yes, an exceptional amount. I am full of glee," he replied, giving Green a wry look. But he didn't make a move to shrug his arm off, yet.

Green laughs at Silver's response, and then reaches over to ostensibly grab a truffle from the plate that May left perched on the ledge; he assumes it's Silver's. "Nice suit, by the way," he says quietly, so Katie won't overhear. He actually sounds appreciative instead of sarcastic. "You pick that out yourself?"

He ends up grabbing the whole plate before he pulls back, offering some truffles to Katie. "This is Katie Denniser," he says to Silver. "She's an ace trainer from Viridian. Katie, this is Silver. He's a good friend of mine. Have you two met before?"

Green's Eevee has leaped off of Haha and raced over to Silver. Eevee wants some chocolate. She stares up at Silver now with big, wibbly eyes.

"Don't give her any," Green says without even looking. "It'll make her sick."

Eevee ignores her trainer and continues to stare at Silver. Pleeeeeeeeease?

Silver tugged at his tie a little self-consciously after the compliment from Green, and muttered back under his breath. "No. Lyra."

He tried his very best to ignore the way that Eevee was looking at him - which was hard, because she was utterly adorable - and failed, but he wasn't about to give her any chocolate. However, he did have some pokémon food in his pocket, that he'd intended to take back home later but...

He broke off a little bit and gave it to Eevee. "Don't recognise her, so no."
