BTW, I recently picked up a book that reminds me of your story. It's called "My Stroke of Insight" by Jill Bolte Taylor. It's about a neuro-researcher documenting her experience with having a stroke.
Awesome! I'm not even in a PhD program yet, so I have major respect for someone who's in the midst of a dual degree program. I will definitely check out that book!
No dual program just yet. I went the hard route and will be doing each of them separately. I was way too immature to dive straight into an MD/PhD program straight out of college. Haha. That wouldn't have been pretty.
I just clicked on over here from the runners community and had to say hi when I saw your profile. I was a research coordinator for a psychiatry project for a year or so before starting grad school. Good luck with your apps--I'd be happy to throw some advice your way if you find yourself in need. :)
