It really doesn't tell you how to start a cult, so much as how to maintain a cult after it has already started. I've always wondered how you get followers when it's you.
Getting your first followers is very similar to getting your next-- you run your "meditation class" or "self improvement seminar" and make up a supremely self-important history about yourself. You act like you're intrinsically superior to others, and you will eventually get a few people who want to glom on.
Those people need more of a reason to commit, so you give them your own personal attention. Lots of good times and loving on them. You make up inner circles to invite them into, turning them into new recriters and runners-of-seminars. They then get the enjoyment of having followers within the group, which will give them every reason to want to keep what they have.
They do mention that in the video, but it's brushed over quickly.
