Times They Are A Changin'

So much stuff going on. Been tentatively writing for other fandoms, which means I really ought to create a new master list for them on my side bar navigation. Then there's the fact that I finally managed to transfer to Michigan State University, where I am double majoring in Japanese and Linguistics and have a minor in TESOL. Then, I'm applying to ( Read more... )

Мой родной язык русский. Правда, я не знаю как помочь с его изучением. Твои тексты я читаю с программы онлайн-переводчика. Но и так они бесподобно хороши. :)

Wow, it must be really hard to read entire posts and story entries by running it through an online translator. You're way more patient than I am.

Right now I'm trying to learn Cyrillic first, because I want to be fully literate in Russian: speaking, listening, AND reading, writing. Right now, I definitely know да and нет. For now, I will use your comments to help my reading.

It's great to hear from you again!

OO fun MSU is one of the best for Japanese. I do have to say for a summer job if you don't mind being in the middle of no where check out Concordia Language Villages. They have all 4 of those languages and they look for students to work for them. Also check out Doulingo for German, I've been using it for French and Dutch. The best part about it is it's free.

Also if you like conventions there's a good one in Lansing in March called Shuto-con. There were some pretty epic HP cosplays there last year. If you're all ready in MI in november there's another great con in Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids Comic Con)

Anywhozle I wish you luck luck and more luck, and that you have a great time.

I'm from Lansing, so I've grown up hearing quite a bit about MSU's various programs - thanks for the tip though! I didn't know about Concordia Language Villages.

I use Duolingo and Memrise to learn new languages, its just incredibly slow going without a partner to practice with. Speaking one or two sentences to your computer is not the same as actually talking with someone.

I'm not terribly big on conventions. They've never really appealed to me for some reason. Part of it I think is that my anime phase was over really fast and before I even realized various cons existed. Now I'd rather put my money to something else.

Thanks for the comment!
