Katie took a sip of her pint as she and Liam stood off to the side watching the others play.

"You know, I think pool is really meant to be a spectator sport," she said with a grin. "At least for me, anyway."

"I think it's a bit too full, to be honest," Katie said, but she smiled anyway. It was nice to joke about her mess of a love life with someone who didn't know all the particulars.

"Ta," Katie said, "and that's a very clever way to deflect the issue, Mr. Cornfoot. I still maintain that your numbers would be higher than mine, at any rate."
