Most of what had been listed in the books on Divination were methods that Sibyll tried to teach, with some notable exceptions. She understood that there were some secrets that could only be found within an animal skin, but there was something disturbing about just slicing innocent animals open in order to poke around and see what they knew. Add in the whole blood and sacrifice thing and well, emphatic no.
Seeing into a fire though, chancy because you also had to factor in outside influences and the vibrancy of the flame. Although there were still some positive aspects to fire sight. She made a note to examine more texts on the subject.
Rune stones and casting stones had a history of being accurate about what lay ahead if read correctly. Sometimes small sticks and bones could be exchanged for stones for a more precise telling.
Looking up while she turned the page Sibyll sighed and snuggled back into the cushions of the chair, it was all nice and comfortable by the fire. Sibyll wondered how the rest of the staff were preparing for the new term. Minerva was most likely all a flutter compiling student lists and double checking schedules to be handed out to the heads of house. Mr. Weasley was somewhere, of that she was certain. Pomona was with her plants and Irma might be in the library. Although if anyone did come and visit the room Sibyll wouldn't be put out. It'd be nice to see how others prepared for start of term. Rather then her formerly typical run around in a panic from her 'inner eye' spasming about not having enough tea supplies to study tea readings. She was doing much better since she cut her coffee consumption down by a cup a day.
