Anthony knelt in front of his bookcase, searching idly for something to occupy his evening. He spied a couple of volumes he'd bought secondhand
not too long ago and tugged one from the shelf. Perfect.
He set his glass of juice on the bedside table, kicked his shoes off, and settled onto his bed, book in hand. He'd not finished the first paragraph when a thought occurred to him, and he frowned, remembering that the day he'd bought this book, he and Cho had had a discussion about the Muggle author Thomas Hardy, which had led to her lending him
a couple of Hardy's books. Books he'd finished a couple of weeks ago and never returned.
"Package delivery, Solomon," he murmured as he stroked his owl's head. He wrapped the books in parchment and scrawled a note to go along with them.
Cho,
I meant to return these ages ago. My apologies.
They were both brilliant, by the way. Depressing, but brilliant. I think I'm glad I'm not living our friend Thomas's life, if these are the themes he was inspired to write on.
Anthony.
