Date: Wednesday, June 5, 1999 Characters: Parvati Patil, Lavender Brown Location: The Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley Status: Private Summary: Parvati and Lavender catch up after work. Completion: Incomplete
Lavender bit her lip as Parvati sat down, trying to stop herself from giggling. It didn't really work.
"It's alright. And, yes. I do know you. Which is why I only got here five minutes ago." She nudged Parvati's foot under the table. "I hope you don't turn up late like this to work," she teased.
Parvati mock glared at Lavender, sticking out her tongue as she looked quickly at the menu. "Well, I don't feel too badly then."
"No, I tend to get myself there pretty early so I have no excuses. Get up an hour before I need to, that sort of thing. Usually, that helps me at least be on time." She giggled and set the menu down, deciding on a salad and chips. Healthy and not at the same time.
Lavender laughed. "You shouldn't. After all these years, I just know you really well." It felt kind of good and normal to tease like this.
"I'm good," Lavender said with a smile, having already decided on ordering a steak. Though it wasn't really like there was anything else that she would order. "How are you? Anything interesting getting you distracted?"
"Interesting? No. I saw Shay a week or two ago, and Adrian Pucey, as well, but other than that things have been pretty relaxed and easy." Parvati shrugged one shoulder and leaned her head on her hand.
"I think I know what I'm going to wear on Sunday, so I haven't even had to worry about that." Parvati wanted to buy something new, but hadn't been able to justify spending that kind of money for Malfoy, of all people.
"Are you taking a gift? I have no idea what we're supposed to do."
