Date: Wednesday, April 3, 1999 Characters: Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood Location: Pink Umbrella Status: Private Summary: Hermione and Luna have lunch Completion: Incomplete
It felt very adult to be meeting Hermione for her lunch break. She was interested in hearing about how her job was going- now that she would know more about it, and they could talk freely without worrying about Muggles.
She wandered into the Pink Umbrella perhaps a minute or two late; she had noticed an employee from the Magical Menagerie trying to coax a cat out of a tree. By the time she had gotten out of the tree herself, nodding to a startled-looking employee, she was hoping Hermione hadn't waited too long.
When she entered, she spotted Hermione at a nice table by the window and bypassed the hostess to sit with her. "Hello! I hope you weren't waiting too long," Luna smiled, sitting across from Hermione.
When she noticed Luna walking towards the table, she smiled. "Hi, Luna. How are you?" she asked as she closed her planner and put it away.
"I haven't been here long. I went ahead and got us a table so we'd not have to wait." She reached for a menu. "How are you enjoying your Easter holidays so far?"
"Thanks," she said, when Hermione explained the table. Luna took the other menu that was on the table and flipped it open. "I'm doing very well, how are you?"
"The holiday has been lovely. I went to Wales with Daddy and Greg taught me flying yesterday. The rest of the week will probably just be relaxing and school work. How have you been enjoying your work so far?"
"I'm okay. It's been a long week, but for no particular reason. Work is going well and everything else is alright right now, too."
She smiled. "Wales? I'm sure that was lovely. Did you enjoy flying with Greg? I'm not fond of flying, but I have liked it the few times that Harry's talked me into flying with him. I just have no interest in doing it on my own unless it's necessary."
"Work is very enjoyable. I'm still getting my feet wet, so to speak, and learning how everything works in terms of lobbying and speaking with contacts at the Ministry and elsewhere."
