Parvati,

How are you? Missing me, I hope! I know I'm missing you - I realise now that I really was taking having you in the same house for granted. It's odd not having you around all the time, like the summer holidays when we were younger.

I'd love to catch up soon. You're welcome round here any time, you know? We could have tea or dinner or make cocktails with ridiculous names - my grandmother has a surprising number of books on cocktail making and there are even sections on non-alcoholic ones so I can drink them. Or we could have a girly sleepover with face masks and doing our nails and everything like we used to once upon a time.

I meant everything I said before about not wanting to lose you as a friend. So this is me making an effort; it's not as hard as I thought it would be and I wish I'd done this sooner. I hope I hear from you soon.
