Pansy smiled as Neville pulled her to him a little, making sure she was staying dry. It was sort of nice- to feel taken care of.
She shrugged. "I'm not sure. The museum sounds interesting; I've never been to one before. On the other hand, the castle might be less crowded," she said thoughtfully. "Maybe wandering isn't so bad," she finally settled on.
"How were your parents today? Still 'no news is good news'?"
Pansy's eyebrows shot up, had Neville really just asked her to a benefit? "I'd love to go, Neville." She bit her lip, wondering if the Weasleys would be angry to see her with Neville, considering Ginny.
George had always been pleasant, and Ron was rather nice, too. That didn't mean things would be the same now, though. "Do you think it might upset the Weasleys? I don't plan to not go with you because of that, mind you. But I don't want to make anyone angry or upset, either." Pansy wasn't sure how close Neville had been with Ginny's family, but assumed their break up hadn't gone over well.
The server came back with their drinks and Neville ordered the chicken fajitas for two.
"I asked Fleur what she thought. She isn't sure how Mr. and Mrs. Weasley might react, but she wasn't sure if they would attend either. She wasn't even sure if Ginny would be there. I'm not really worried about Ron, George or Percy. Bill's always a little scary and Charlie seems mostly oblivious." Neville squeezed Pansy's hand. "I don't think anyone expected us not to date other people eventually," he told her truthfully.
"I don't want to hurt Ginny any more than I have. She is my friend even if she isn't really interested in being friends any more. I can't really blame her for that, considering I wasn't any good at helping her get better, only at hiding the problems. More than that, Pansy, I don't want to feel like I have to hide you. That isn't fair to you. That isn't fair to us. I really enjoy your company. I especially enjoy dancing with you. I think we can be sensitive to the Ginny's feelings and those of the Weasleys and still enjoy
( ... )
She nodded, mostly in agreement with him. "I'm sure Ginny would take things better then Draco has at any rate," she said as their drinks arrived.
"I think that's fine, Neville, really. I'm not worried for my sake, but for yours." She mixed her tea, careful to keep the long sleeves of her jumper out of the cup.

"Can I ask you a frank question, Neville?"
Reply
He looked at her curiously, "Sure, Pansy. Always. What is it?"
