Hestia wasn't sure where Percy had planned to take her for dinner so she'd not worn robes. Instead, since this was their first date, she'd dug deep into her closet to pull out her dresses. She didn't like wearing dresses often, but she felt like wearing one tonight; being with Percy made her feel a bit more girly than normal. She pulled on her favourite dark blue dress only to find that she couldn't do up the zip. She took it off and threw it on the ground, sitting on the bed ( ... )

Hestia opened the door quickly, and Percy's eyes widened slightly as he looked her up and down- discreetly, he hoped. Her dress was clingy in all the right places, and he couldn't help that his eyes were drawn to her low neckline. She was certainly well-endowed, especially compared to the other women he'd been with. But he wasn't here to compare her to them.

"You look absolutely lovely," he said, handing her the rose as a greeting. He leaned down and kissed her cheek lightly. He noticed the colorful tulips were sitting on her table. He hoped she liked tulips- they had seemed unassuming enough to not be cheesy, but bright and pretty, kind of like her.

"Are you ready? I know I'm a few minutes early," he said apologetically. "And I wasn't sure where you would prefer, so I made reservations at Merlin's Garden, the Italian Kitchen, and Circe."

"Oh, thank you. You look very handsome. That's a good colour for you," Hestia said, flushing lightly as he kissed her cheek.

"It's fine, I'll just need to grab my cloak and my handbag." She bit back a giggle when he mentioned that he'd made reservations in triplicate. "Always prepared, aren't you, Perce? Well, I had lunch with your boss today at Circe, so I'd rather go somewhere else for supper. How about Merlin's Garden?"

Percy flushed slightly, and then darker when he realized that their faces matched. He appreciated that she wasn't so smooth she couldn't get flustered, though, he supposed.

He tried not to laugh nervously when she said something about him always being prepared, and it twisted his mouth into a smirk. "That's me," he admitted. "Merlin's Garden sounds good. Should I Apparate us? I wouldn't want your dress to get sooty."

Percy reached forward, intending to squeeze her hand, but it wasn't on the table. Now his hand was dangling mid-air, and he was feeling stupid for wanting to comfort her even in a small, physical way. As smoothly as he could, he compromised by brushing a lock of hair away from her face and behind her ear.

He felt warmer, and covered it up by taking a sip of his drink. He was glad she'd ordered this instead of wine, he decided, and then tried not to splutter at her next question.

"Er, n-no. I'm afraid I was mislead about the... potency, of the last one, so I haven't quite had the nerve to try any more. He hasn't asked, though." He must know better.

Hestia was shocked when Percy's hand came up to brush her hair behind her ear, but it felt nice and she was touched by the simple gesture.

She smiled when Percy stuttered and tried to answer diplomatically. She bit her lip, wondering what on earth George'd foisted on his brother. She wondered if it was one of those Adult Daydream Charms she'd heard so much about and then found herself blushing a bit as she thought about Percy and the charms.

"You're never going to tell me what you tested, are you?" She asked with a teasing smile.

Percy wondered if she always bit her lip when she was thinking. It was terribly distracting. He could remember how her plump lips had-

"Not if I can help it," he said honestly, clearing his throat and trying to clear his mind of thoughts of the awkward daydream charm and Hestia's lips, because it could get embarrassing. "Are you quite curious?"

"Terribly," she said, leaning forward, hardly believing that she was flirting with Percy and that he was flirting back.

"What can I do to convince you to tell me?" She asked before taking an innocent sip of her bellini.

Percy enjoyed the rest of his meal immensely, mostly because of Hestia's enthusiasm and conversational skills. She was witty and intelligent, and seemed quite eager to learn about Percy as well. He hoped she was enjoying herself as much as he was. He was feeling a bit more easy going by the time he started on his third bellini, but decided not to finish it. He didn't want to get sloppy, and he wanted to appear the gentleman that he was- and gentlemen didn't lose themselves to alcohol in front of a lovely date.

He finished off his pasta and it was still relatively early in the evening, so he leaned back, ready to stay and continue to chat if she wanted to.

"Are you feeling like dessert?" he asked as she finished her plate, leaning slightly towards her. He wasn't exactly feeling like dessert. He was feeling like kissing her and showing her just how much he was enjoying himself. But he'd be patient.

It was a lovely meal. The food was delicious, the bellinis were fruity and alcoholic and Percy was irresistible. Hestia found herself staring at his mouth or his hands for minutes on end, and then flushing profusely when he asked her a question, hoping that he hadn't caught her.

At last they were finished and Percy asked her if she wanted desert. His cheeks were slightly flushed from the bellinis and she smiled at him, shaking her head. "I've got some biscuits at my flat; made them a few nights ago. If you want, we can go back there; I can make us some tea?" She suggested. She hoped it wasn't too forward for him. If he wanted, it would just be biscuits and tea. But there was always the potential for more, especially since they'd be alone.

Percy sighed. Part of him wanted to say 'no, thank you,' and walk her to her door like a proper gentleman, but it was a very small part. It was still relatively early, and she was looking quite tempting indeed. And who was he to say no to those flushed cheeks and quirked lips? Anyway, he told himself, she just wanted to share some biscuits. Most women liked to share their baked goods, right?

"Well, the night is still young," he acceded with a small smile and a bit of trepidation, because even as he convinced himself it was purely a casual invitation, he wasn't sure what the rest of the evening held.

Percy seemed to be weighing his options, before he agreed. Hestia beamed at him, and signalled to the server so they could settle up.

Once they were outside she turned and put her arms around him. "Shall I take us home, then?" She said, trying not to stare at his lips.
