The sitting room looked lovely. They had spent hours last night putting up decorations, and the effort had been worth it. After her workout with Sam and her shower, Hermione had gone to sit on the ugly gold sofa that she didn't want to acknowledge was somewhat growing on her instead of going to the library. She had stayed in bed later than usual today, so her entire schedule felt somewhat off. Or maybe she was just off this morning.
Regardless, she was curled up on the sofa with a file open that she should be reading. She kept staring at the tree, though, watching the lights flicker and blink. Normally, she wouldn't be distracted by something shiny, but she had a lot on her mind lately. Not even beating up Sam had helped her stop thinking today. There was just so much to get done: presents to buy, revision to do, careers to decide and who knew what else.
She had been looking forward to her walk with Harry all week. It was going to be good to talk and relax. The information from Fleur had given her more to consider, so she was going to be glad to discuss it with Harry and get his opinion on everything. He was her best friend, so that's why she wanted to talk to him. She frowned at the tree and looked down at the file as she picked up her quill and went back to making lists while waiting.
