Irma had finally had some time to find agricultural books for Dougal McLaggen. She'd asked some of the ladies living at St. Jerome's Home for suggestions, but they were of little help. Most of the texts they were familiar with were long out of print and Irma couldn't locate copies of them anyway. She'd done her best, and hoped the books she'd selected would be helpful.
Enclosed with the owl are the following three books:
Living with sheep: everything you need to know to raise your own flock
Approved practices in dairying
Small-scale sheep keeping
She packed the book and the note together and spelled the package closed. There were a few students in the library, but they were all busy and it would only take her a few minutes to head to the owlery.
When she reached the top of the stairs, she called two school owls down from their roosts.
"Please take this package to Dougal McLaggen in Hogsmeade. No need to wait for a response." The owls each grabbed an edge of the package and flew off into the cloudy afternoon.
