The newspaper said that it was snowing in most of Scotland. Hermione wondered if Hogsmeade was covered in a blanket of white, and she felt nostalgic for the first snow day back at school. She could remember snowball fights and silliness with the boys when it snowed. With a sigh, she closed the Muggle newspaper and went to refill her glass of juice.
It was still early, so the house was quiet. She had been awake for too long, but sleep had been so odd lately that she just got out of bed when she started thinking too much and felt restless. It was a mixture of dreams and lying awake thinking with an occasional nightmare. She didn't feel tired, really, so she guessed it was better than it could be, but she was starting to dread the dreams almost as much as the nightmares.
Friday night hadn't helped because now she knew what it felt like when Harry touched her sides, which brought another to the dreams and thoughts. It was probably good that she couldn't really remember what she dreamed about, because it was awkward enough acknowledging that she was attracted to her best friend without adding more complications.
This morning, she had spent half an hour with Sam to work out her aggression and frustration. After she took a shower, she reviewed her essay for Charms and done a little reading ahead in Arithmancy before she'd gone downstairs to get something to drink and read the newspapers. It was Sunday, and things between her and Harry seemed to be okay. The tension was still there, but he hadn't seemed to be avoiding her since Friday. Of course, he'd been out yesterday afternoon, and then she'd been doing chores and finishing up homework, but it hadn't felt as odd as the previous week.
As she waited for Harry to wake up, she decided to go back upstairs to the library. She stopped in her room to get a book before she took her glass of juice and got comfortable in her favorite chair. Instead of walking around the neighborhood today, she planned to suggest that they go to Covent Garden. It would be crowded, but there was a nice indoor market that might have some interesting for Christmas gifts. Hopefully, Harry would agree to go with her. Otherwise, she'd just go after lunch.
