Tonight he was having dinner at home, alone; a quiet evening in; not with a book, or a film -- just an old pile of photo albums that he'd collected over the years they'd had together. Gawain knew them through and through; ten years of his wife smiling up at him and waving. Ten wonderful years that he could never lose.

There were wonderful memories; they'd gone to Tibet, Romania, Malaysia, Singapore and Brazil over the years, and each of those places had albums of their own, in Muggle photographs. They were somewhat more chilling, as still as they were, but going on Muggle holidays had given Gawain a taste of the other life; the life that belonged to his beautiful wife, and he would never forget flying in an aeroplane for the first time, nor that wonderful helicopter flight across the Brazilian rainforest. He remembered in Tibet, where they'd been hiking through the mountains, and Jacqueline had insisted on going riding on a little Spiti pony, and how much she'd laughed when he'd admitted that they scared him.

He'd visit the Abbey first, and take her flowers from her beautiful garden for her vase and sweep off all the leaves. He still missed her, and he still loved her. And he would never forget.

Still - things were looking up today. He could make a difference this time. His Scotland Yard operative had come back with some information, and that was why there was a positive bounce in his step as he head down to Magical Creatures in the afternoon. "Sorry, Weasley - could I borrow Miss Granger please?"
