Summary: Hermione meets Cormac to speak to House Elves
Completion: Complete

This entire week was just becoming odd and strange. From a Parkinson shared lunch to Malfoy playing the flute to Harry being moody during lunch, it felt like one of those times in life when Hermione wondered if she'd fallen down the rabbit hole. They happened occasionally, but rarely ever seemed to last for day after day. To add to that list, she was on her way to meet Cormac and his House Elf. At least tomorrow, they'd be having dinner with Bill and Fleur. That was normal and would be a real pleasant break from such an unusual week.

She had confirmed their plans with Cormac during class today, but she was early because she'd just gone home to drop off her things before Flooing to the Three Broomsticks to wait. She didn't mind having time to sit for a few minutes and have a glass of pumpkin juice, though, so it was a nice break beforehand. She was looking forward to speaking with Twinkie, the personal House Elf that Cormac had mentioned. Since one of her primary focuses with H.E.R.O. was a literacy campaign, she wanted to find out how Twinkie had enjoyed her lessons and how long it had taken to learn and a lot of other questions that might help her formulate some schedules for H.E.R.O. so she could finally get started with that organization.

Harry had told her before that she shouldn't feel bad about taking so long to get the first meeting arranged. At the time, she hadn't really been able to agree but now she realized that she hadn't been ready. She would rather wait until she was confident about her plans and knew there would be some purpose beyond a vague meeting, so she was glad that she'd waited. She had been able to speak to Winky and a few of the Hogwarts elves who showed an actual interest in the idea of reading, and Kreacher had been an excellent test subject. With Dobby's Order of Merlin, there was more recognition, too, regardless of the fact that most people didn't know why he'd been honored.

She took a drink of her pumpkin juice and watched the people around her as she waited. Cormac would be there soon, so she'd enjoy her juice and people-watching until he and Twinkie arrived.
