The ground flew past and the wind whipped in her hair and Ginny leaned further against the broom, pushing it hard. It always felt good to do this, to forget everything just for a moment and breath in the sky and let the earth go.
It had been a week or so since she'd seen Luna, and that was to make plans for the party with Eloise. So they'd not really had time to talk. It would be good to see her. Ginny missed having girlfriends. She'd never had many, it was true, but Luna and Hermione had been the exceptions. Things were so odd with Hermione now, and Ginny didn't know if the distance between them would ever close. But she still felt close to Luna.
She'd been remiss in not seeing her more. But that was easily remedied.
She landed between the house and the tent and called out to Luna, wondering where she would find her. It was just a bit past lunch, so Gin hoped that she wasn't interrupting her meal.
