Madam Puddifoot's wasn't the same as getting ice cream at Florean Fortescue's, but the latter wasn't a choice, so it would just have to do. Harry needed a good distraction, and this seemed a good place. Of course, Hermione had only been here once, but they'd had treats on the menu and flavored tea, so she couldn't think of anything better suited to helping a cranky mood than chocolate ( ... )

The fresh air helped to cool his mood a bit after the letter he'd recieved. Still admittedly quite cranky, he followed Hermione into Madam Puddifoots -- which wasn't his favorite place on a good day, but Fortescue's wasn't open anymore and Hermione had seemed to think that ice cream would help. Which he appreciated, as it might go further toward cooling him off.

He nodded. "Yeah, I guess I could eat." He followed her gaze to where Lisa sat. "No, I don't mind."

Lisa didn't see Cho when she came in, so she took a seat to look over the lunch menu. She'd been expecting the choices to be limited, as the shop was known mostly for tea and sweets, but she was pleasantly surprised to find several sandwiches and soups on the menu.

She was deciding between the ham and swiss sandwich and the soup of the day when she heard the jingle of the door and looked up to see a couple of familiar faces enter the shop. Though she knew from the papers some of what Harry and Hermione had gotten up to these last 12 months, she'd not seen either of them in person since the end of sixth year.

Since she was the only other customer in the place, she felt it was only appropriate to call them over to say hello. She gave them a smile and a little wave. "Hello, Hermione, Harry. It's been ages. Great to see you."

"Are you here for lunch as well?" she asked, holding up the menu for emphasis. "I'd love some company if you're so inclined. I'm on my lunch break from work."

When Harry agreed that they could go say hello to Lisa, Hermione started in that direction. Lisa saw them and waved them over before they reached her table. "Hello, Lisa. How are you?"

She glanced at Harry when Lisa invited them to sit and then looked back at Lisa. "Thank you. We're here for lunch and ice cream of some sort," she said as she sat down. "Where are you working?"

The tea shoppe wasn't quite as busy as it usually was for lunch, Cho thought. Of course, she'd just started her shift and it was likely to get busier the moment she went into the tea room, as was often her luck. She'd only worked here about three weeks but she already wished that she could leave; her feet hurt all the time and it was difficult to be pleasant to everyone for five hours on a stretch, five days a week. The minute she got word about an internship, she planned to give Madam Puddifoot notice.

Finally done adjusting her waitwitch uniform and fixing her hair, she went out and scanned the main room. She was pleasantly surprised by a table of people she knew fairly well. Walking over briskly, she pulled out a small parchpad for taking orders as she approached the table.

"Hello," she said with a wink and a smile. "My name is Cho, and I'll be serving you today. We have two soups today, French onion and beef barley. Does anyone need a menu?"

Lisa smiled broadly as Cho approached them in full waitwitch mode. She hadn't seen much of her since she'd run into her at the Leaky on her birthday, but she hoped they could get together socially soon and catch up.

"Hello, Cho - I was hoping to run into you! But don't let us distract you from your work. We're just going to grab some lunch."

"I'd like to have the onion soup, but I'm not sure the others have had a chance to look at the menu yet." She looked at Harry and Hermione to see if they were ready to order.

"Oh, you're not distracting me at all," Cho said. "This table is one of my stations. I usually wait on all the tables on this side of the tea room."

She nodded as Lisa gave her order, writing it on the parchpad. "Onion soup is a good choice; it's very tasty." Harry and Hermione had apparently found menus on the table and were looking them over.

"If you need some time to decide, I can come back in a couple of minutes," she told them; the room was starting to get busier now and an elderly witch who was one of the regulars had taken up her usual spot.

"Good afternoon, Cho. I didn't realize that you worked here." Hermione smiled and reached for a menu. She should have been looking at one the whole time, but they'd started talking.

"I'd like a bacon sandwich and pumpkin juice, please," she decided after scanning the rather large beverage selection. She closed the menu. "And I'd like a scoop of chocolate ice cream for afters."
