Miss Granger,
After the Second World War, eight million children had found themselves indoctrinated into Nazi regime; they were known as the Hitler Youth. They were taught only what the Reich wanted them to know, as such, the longer those children were subjected to such an environment, intrensically, the less they knew. When the War ended, they had to learn new things, to adapt to an environment in which their small and edited knowledge of the world no longer applied, and where the whole world looked down at them in disgust and contempt.
I don't imagine I have to explain the similarities between this and my own situation. As such, I will simply move onto the reason for my letter, and for my request.
I find myself in a lacking position, where my own failing knowledge misses is irrelevant. I struggled to find some sensible reason for my owl. Why would you want to help me, and why would I seek your help. I am sure that no doubt, at this moment, you're wondering that same thing. The answer is that you are by far the most knowledgeable person in the sphere in which I have been trying to educate myself. There is no other source, except perhaps my aunt, but although she is very well self-taught, she has not been born a Muggle, as you have. Besides that fact is the reason for wanting the knowledge in the first place. I wish to impress her, and perhaps - selfishly, I know - I hope to find myself with the oppurtunity of decreasing the length of my sentence.
In return - there are many things I could offer you, although I doubt many of them would appeal. You would probably be distressed at an offer of money for your time, although that offer is certainly there. However, as of last time we met, quid pro quo seemed to be an effective manner of communication, and so I can offer you and your thirst for knowledge, what little, quantified knowledge I own, pureblood extremist as it may be.
There is a certain amount of hesitancy with which I write this letter, understandably. There is no time in my past with which I would have looked at it and not snorted in disgust at the very idea of needing help, and asking for it, from a Muggleborn. If you mock me, or let anyone else know of my suggestion, then I shall simply deny that I ever wrote this letter.
Awaiting your response,
D. A. Malfoy
