Great for a first fic! Love the flow, from time to time to that final time. And tactile comfort paired w/food... how very male and how very sweet. A wonderful reflection of each other.
On the concrit side... could use a bit of polish here and there, perhaps a bit more detail in spots, this at times reads more like a treatment of a story to me than the full tale, although you become more sure of yourself as the story goes along.
The poignancy of that last bit was just heart-rending for chances lost because of never even being thought about.
And the choice of last line was perfect. You knew when to stop, which is a very important thing that not everyone manages.
On the whole, a good first effort! Will be looking forward to seeing what else you come up with....
