CotBP Musings

So I was thinking about something odd in CotBP when I stumbled across something that din't quite fit.  Norrington, as we al know, is an intelligent man.  I pretty sure he would know that Will and not the drunken blacksmith was more responsible for Sparrow's capture.  And yet he doesn't even awknowledge Will at all.  And then I realized something.  Norrington said to Will after Elizabeth was captured that "You're not the only one who care for her."  Maybe I'm reading waaaaaay too much into this, but I don't think it was a mistake for Norrington to be so cold to Will - I think that was deliberate on his part.  I think he knew that he wasn't the only man in Elizabeth's affections and I think he was taking it out on Will.

What do you all think?  Is this an over-analysis?  Or are you all having little bunnies hop around in your head with the perfect fic idea where Norrington discovers Elizabeth's affection for Will...not merely as a childhood friend, but perhaps as a lover?
