It had been kind of a long day, what with explaining to teen-Jim that he was a father, and then hearing a little about the traumatic adolescence that he and James apparently had in common. But after some alone time, and then a nap with Darcy when James brought her back, Tina was feeling pretty refreshed

Following her first shift guarding Jerkass McHotpants, Martha was desperately in need of friendly company and baby snuggles.

She knocked on Tina's door and waited.

Tina had been waiting for the knock, and let her in promptly. Martha's timing was excellent. Darcy had just finished eating, and was working on a burp. She should be awake and interested in the world for at least a little while.

"Come on in. Can I get you something to drink or something?" Tina smirked just a little bit. "I'm talking water or juice or maybe soda. I don't really have anything stronger sitting around."

And replicated alcohol was never worth it.

Martha grinned at her. "Oh, I see what you did there. No, I'm sworn off alcohol forever. Or at least a couple of days. Water would be nice, though."

She sat down unbidden, cooing at the baby.

"Couldn't resist," Tina said, not at all penitently. She poured a glass of water for each of them and came to join Martha in the living room. "You're looking a lot more chipper than last time I saw you. How's your head?"
