To me, it seems like such a bigger thing, one that should be decided by everybody. I think that before every war, there should be a popular vote. That wouldn't be too hard..thats what democracy is about, right
( ... )
well, sure, we send people to washington in order to let them make decisions on behalf of us because they are supposed to be more versed in these things...but the system doesn't work. They sent us to war in 1992 strictly for oil, and they sent us to war in 2001 because of lies which they fell for. They sent us to war in the 1960s based on a misguided policy. The three previous wars in which this country has participated have been misguided and wrong. This system doesn't work. The folks over at moveon.org knew a heck of a lot more than anybody in congress or the executive branch about iraq.
That idea I had would never come to fruition. I would be in favor of direct democracy on a small scale. Heck, my ideas are in flux about direct democracy on a large scale. Call me an anarchist if you want to, but I just don't trust elected officials anymore. They are too wrong too often.
oh my, i love the shins. four is not enough of a list for music. i wouldn't want to vote on war. but i've stopped watching the news. and i don't vote. -candy

"...but I can't write it because I either feel really racist or like I can't back up my points well enough."
