May has been a sort of rough month. My parents put down Princess on the first because she was going to the bathroom outside her litter box. The doctor said she had weak kidneys, and she had probably become a bit senile, but otherwise she was fine. They didn't try to move her litter box upstairs or anything. And they didn't tell me that she was ( Read more... )

I'm sorry for the loss of Princess and the problems with your gran, but you do have a holiday coming up, which is nice.

It's pretty brutal out there in the legal scene right now. We've retrenched as much as we can and buckled down for the duration, but the Law Society journal said that over 3,000 lawyers lost their jobs in the last month alone. It's frightening out there, but we will survive.

I'm sorry to hear about the Princess mess. I went through a similar situation with my dog in 2003 -- it's very sad and frustrating, isn't it?

Sorry about gran, too. I'm writing this from my grandmother's house in Connecticut where yesterday I discovered, on opening one of the boxes I have stored in her basement, Bob Lehner's Experience of the University of Chicago (in original zip-loc bags!); by further coincidence, two days ago I had the spontaneous idea to download a Kate Bush song (and did; "Big Stripey Lie").

Is it strange to put CDs in ziploc bags? I've been bugging Tom to let me borrow Napoleon Dynamite for like three months, and finally last night I walked him home just so I could get it, and he didn't have a case. I asked him if he had any sandwich bags, and he didn't have any, and he seemed weirded out. I was annoyed he didn't have any sandwich bags. Like I'm going to carry a CD home without some kind of protection! /B/

Big Stripey Lie is just two tracks away from You're the One, the track I included from that album on that collection, if I recall correctly. /B/

One has not seen enough of you, sir.

Do get back to us when you return from the colonies. There is much that can be set to rights with a strategic cup of tea. I also owe you at the very least one feeding.

And stay ever vigilant, sir.

Many thanks, S-Dog. I concur with your assessment, and we will each do our part to keep it real in the meantime. /B/
