Tsunami Reports: Excerpts from the Washington Post . . .

The only places that I have personally been that were hit by yesterday's tsunamis are Krabi & Koh Phi Phi, Thailand.

Yes, and I'm getting the feeling we're going to hear higher tolls as people continue to assess the carnage and devastation . . . .

Scary business, isn't it? I keep seeing the pictures on TV and thinking that I'm watching a movie or something. It's so surreal!

I've been 'fortunate' enough to live in a state without television. So I haven't seen the video, but I've been reading about the circumstances, and learning what signs preceded it--if I'm ever at the beach and the sea dramatically goes out below low tide--I have a moment or two to get to high ground. Horrifying, really . . . .
