Past is Past?

Several times over the past couple of weeks, I've encountered the sentiment that Facebook is... somehow destructive for letting people get lost in the nostalgia of people from the past rather than focusing on their friends and connections from the present.  The logic goes that there's a reason that these people are in your past, that if you'd had ( Read more... )

I completely agree. As a matter of fact, I've reconnected with several people whom I've actually tried to find over the years and just couldn't.

I've also reconnected in a big way with my BFF from college. She and I both suck at writing letters - immediate chatting is more our style. So yeah, Facebook is up there on my list of Great Things.

I thought I was the only one with that particular flaw. Why do you figure we do that?

I don't join Facebook simply because I have enough trouble keeping up with lj, but the husband has reconnected with several people from high school and I'm very pleased for him.

I certainly understand the mailbox inertia as I have a baby present for Ivy that has been sitting in my office for MONTHS. I've already taken the 0-3 months size back for the 3-6 and I'm guess my procrastination will require that I exchange the 3-6 for 6-9! I know I will get it to her someday (and certainly before next football season)!
