So he'd been a little fidgety. He could have gone inside his mother's house, but then he'd have just wandered aimlessly. He probably wouldn't have ended up halfway destroying Gesture Part One, though, so it could go either way.
"Happy Valentine's Day," he grinned. "Thank you." Roger took the warm cup from her with one hand, the other staying behind his back, and leaned in to press a slow kiss to her lips even though his were a little chapped and chilled from the wind.
"So..." He started, pulling back to grin a little crooked and awkward. Without looking away from her he pulled a sad looking, bright bouquet from behind his back. Half the flowers were broken and/or bent.

"I hope you got a good deal on those flowers-" she teased lightly, reaching out for the crushed bouquet as a wide smile pulled at her lips.
The flowers may not have been perfect but they didn't need to be. Here was Roger looking adorable and sexy, looking almost nervous, with that boyish look on his face and it brought her right back to the summer they started dating when everything was fresh and new and nothing hurt. It was perfect.

Roger didn't want to admit he'd gotten clumsy with excitement. He was a professional quidditch player for Merlin's sake. There had been a bit of a battle over him when his Bats contract ran out. His reflexes were his livelihood.
But then he was trying to set up a surprise for Lavender and everything went out the window like he was 16 and fumbling with everything again just because she looked at him with those bright eyes and that coy smile.
