View of the Plant - my job for the last 1.5 years.

Today I received a picture of the plant from the customer. The older part of the plant has two large concrete smokestacks that are around 225m tall. This photo was taken from one of the smokestacks looking down on the new gas turbines that we installed over the last year. The new triple smokestack is over 100m tall. Cool photos, isn't nice not to be confined to cubicle life?

Funny you mention the wind power topic. Here's an interesting article on the subject:

One of the issues I am currently fighting in my head is about what to do next and whether or not I could tolerate a cube farm. There are a couple more groups of job related photos on my Fotki site.

Big in which sense? output, physical size, spacing, popularity? see the two links I embedded above, I think the bleeding edge is pushing for a 5MW turbine. I would say they are quite popular. Down in Foggia, the other plant I have been working in the last 6 months, is quite windy and wind turbines are popping up all the time. I see them on the highway regularly.

The best link I have found for information on wind power is http://www.windpower.org/en/core.htm. They have a section aimed at technical people and at kids (including CEOs). When I first found the site I think I read it in its entirety over a few days.
