I have neglected this journal for a long time. Here is the Cole's notes version of what I have done lately. From September through mid-January I spent no more than two consecutive weeks in any given location.

Wow, I am surprised to find a comment from you. I had a rental car from Malpensa, I called them Monday night to ask if I could take that car across. "No." I found the number for Hertz in Trieste (the last Italian outpost in the northeast) and asked them if they allowed their cars further east. "Yes." When I picked up the car I made it very clear that I was going to Zagreb and they had no problem with it, they even marked my contract to explicitly state that I was good to go to Croatia. I have no idea what the answer for Bosnia or Kosovo would be. I have definitely discovered that while most western Europe rental groups will not let their cars east of Italy/Austria/Germany, the rental agencies near the border are a little more flexible.

Wow... So many places. Pictures? Or at least a few short entries with stories about the Irishman, the nicest old couple in Italy, etc?

Sometimes I envy how much of the world you get to see, sometimes I am glad to stay in one place. Either way, glad to see an update :)

I will see what I can come up with. Part of the reason why there was no update for so long is that I was waiting to find the time to do a decent write-up but that never happened. I finally got motivated to bash the Cole's notes version out though.
