Well, I'm back.

For reasons that still make me grimace and sigh heavily whenever I think about them (more on that later), I have wiped my Tumblr and Twitter of followers and abandoned both sites for the time being.
However, I've kept Messaging open on my old Tumblr and added back all the Twitter people who've DM'd me over the past year, since I do intend to check

I can only stand twitter for about ten to fifteen minutes a day. So rare to find any content, mostly a lot of fluff and brag.

I did love Twitter as a quick way to stay on top of news in the MG/YA community and keep tabs on what was going on with friends, but it's become a pretty ugly place in the past couple of years in terms of public accusation/indignation/shaming, and more depressing than uplifting all around. I'm all for talking about thorny issues, but you can't do it fairly in 140 characters, even if you string a bunch of them together.

I'm still here! I haven't been using lj to post but I still follow my friends here and enjoy when people actually post. I am sorry for whatever went down elsewhere-- I guess maybe I should be glad I am not active on tumblr or twitter!

I've actually been thinking of using lj to post more informal stuff, maybe just in locked posts, but I haven't been certain there were enough people here who were still reading actively! So I am glad you are back!
