If you use Windows, I point you to
ljarchive. Quick, neat, and comprehensive, as
shoebox2 and others who've used it can attest. Also lets you find out interesting things about which words (barring the very common ones) you use most frequently, and things like that.
If you're on a Mac or have some other platform, however, I can't help you. Sorry.

Drop your items into your dropbox.
That's a very clunky method, and it obviously won't save comments, etc, unless you save them manually. I was hoping there would be a one-click method, but, alas, to no avail. But Dropbox is simply the coolest thing on earth. (IMHO)
