How to make an author crazy

Dec 29, 2008 14:48

So thanks to the kind offices of colyngbourne and Michelle Harrison (whom I had not met before she messaged me the other day, but I have to say her book looks very tempting), I have learned that Knife is already available in bookstores across the UK. The release dates, they mean nothing! So I am quite harrowed to the depths of my soul excited about that ( Read more... )

Hurrah! How exciting!

By the way, have you considered signing up to be an author at LibraryThing? I added your book to my library there--since it will be mine once it's released in the U.S.--and you didn't appear to have a page there. Lots of authors use it I think... Naomi Novik I know for sure does. Anyway, just an idea.

I have a profile at GoodReads; that's my home base for library records and book reviews. I know about LibraryThing and Shelfari, but... I dunno, do you think I really need to have pages there too? I guess it wouldn't take too long to start one, but... I feel kind of lame putting up a page there if I'm not participating in any other way, you know?

I see your point. Well, I don't really interact much on LibaryTHing these days. I honestly just use it more for keeping my books organized. But yeah, the hassle of keeping yet another page may be too much. I'm not sure if LibraryThing pages are different, but it may be that it's something that you set up once and have no pressure to keep up with it. After all, your books are added for you by the system.

Eee! Congratulations! So there are probably little British kids (and hopefully some adults!) out there reading Knife right this minute!
