Today's Word Count: 3600.

O_O

I can't shake the suspicion that the story is really boring so far (I'm not used to writing psychological drama -- I keep thinking something ought to explode), but wowzers.

Will hang onto that happy feeling for the next 45 minutes, as I suspect I'm going to need it to get through this week's House.

A bit OT, except for the fact that I took a break from my own writing to read your story, "Irresistible Force." Very cool. At first I was all, "OC? What?" because, you know, I'm all spoiled and lazy. But all that stuff with the gun, and the fact that I desperately want to cut Five's hair whenever I see him, made it all better. I liked how you set it somewhere you obviously know; I could tell by reading it that things had a place, even if I don't know the whole picture. I had no trouble seeing the Doctor, either. Good work!

Wow, thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed it. And yes, my desperate need to cut Five's hair (as well as my desperate need to explain where he got that nice haircut he is FINALLY sporting in "The Awakening", after several episodes of unsightly shag) was a big part of how that story came to be. :)

The funny thing about setting the story in where I did is that although that particular city's close to where I live, I don't actually know it very well, and all the locations in it are totally made up. I'm glad it sounded realistic, though!

I think that being familiar enough with how things look make it more visible to the reader; I mean, even if you're making it up, there's a level of realism in dealing with it that means you don't need to spell out every turn and corner to make it 3D.
