Oh, you must rent the movie some time. Buckaroo Banzai: Adventures Beyond the Eighth Dimension, it's a hoot. Not because it's a bad movie that thinks it's a good movie, because it isn't. It's actually a good movie disguised as a bad one: a deliberately quirky and off-beat SF film made in the B-movie style (or maybe I should say spirit) and starring some surprisingly big names like Peter Weller, John Lithgow, and Jeff Goldblum, all of them having what looks like crazy amounts of fun (Lithgow particularly gets to chew up the scenery).

I must have seen the thing ten times by now and I always get a kick out of it.
