Convention Alley -- The Full Scoop -- Part Two

Sorry for the delay on this, I was waiting for lydaclunas to post her account of things so I didn't overlap too much with hers, but then LJ ate her post and she hasn't rewritten it yet, so I'll do mine and she can fill in wherever she likes. I know she has at least one piece of incriminating evidence picture that I wasn't planning to include in my recap, ( Read more... )

Asking Snape to pray for you, LOL! It sounds like you had a wonderful time, and I'm very much looking forward to Part three of your Amazing Adventure. ;-)

My dearest R.J.,

thank you so much for your kind words. I can't begin to tell you what a pleasure and an honor it was to introduce your brilliant lecture. I am astounded to hear that you were so nervous... As I listened to you speak, I was awed by your confidence and insight (I truly speak from my heart!). Of course I was enraptured by the presentation and the spiritual light you cast upon the Potions Master filled me with delight...

Allow me once again to bow before you.

Thanks for the lovely summary. Having attended your presentation, I confess I wouldn't have known you were rushed into it if someone hadn't told me.

I also didn't get the sense that you took up all the question time, nor that people were "appalled" you applied Christian theology, though the idea amuses me. :-) I thought you did a marvelous job.

The Neville thing totally has me pondering now... Currrrses!

Sounds like you had a ball! Now, when are we far-away people going to be able to read your paper?

I felt bad singling you out of the crowd for switching sessions. I'm eternally grateful that you did it so graciously. I was in a bit of a panic, thinking I'd have to run around trying to find someone. I walked into the first session and there you were. Sorry.

As you said, the upside is that you could relax for the rest of the weekend.

I wish I could have made it to any of the presentations. Aside from the brief moments in rooms with media in tow, I missed everything but the keynote speakers. And I'd had such intentions for being your session in particular. Thank goodness for the proceedings.

Oh, that's all right -- I really think it was for the best, on a number of levels. As I said to logospilgrim, I don't normally get nervous before speaking, so it always seems that the Lord throws me a curveball of some sort right before I speak so that I do get nervous and have to depend on Him rather than my own strength. In this case, it was the sudden rescheduling; in other instances, it's been feeling sick, or getting the time of the meeting wrong, or realizing that I've left part of my notes behind, or some other shock of that sort. On the whole I think I prefer the rescheduling. :)
