Well, here it is, my entry in the Weiss Ficathon. Written for aricadavidson, who asked for Action!Weiss, and Syd/Weiss friendship or romance. Now how could I refuse a request like that?
I know it sounds cliche, but I absolutely adore the style of your writing. The way you elaborated on the apparently-abandoned brainwashing plotline worked wonderfully, and I love how that scenario opened us up to this Weiss--strong, supportive of everyone in his life, but pushing aside what matters to him. The conversation near the end was chilling--Weiss almost offended when Vaughn tells him to take over with Sydney. Wonderful, and heartfelt, and very genuine.
I loved every word of this. I was giggling at the prayer, I almost jumped in my chair when I realized it was Vaughn shooting at him, and then I spent the rest of the fic just wanting to hug Weiss. He's such a good guy! And in the best way, too. One of the things I love about him is the way he doesn't sacrifice himself for his friends in an unhealthy way. He's still got a strong sense of self-preservation.
Wonderfully off-kilter look at the relationship between Weiss/Vaughn and how Syd interacts with them both. My favorite bit was Weiss' conversation with himself about Syd losing herself. He's not the only one that thinks that way! Thanks for writing.
I found this off a rec page and just had to comment. I think it's wonderful and so in character for Eric to respect Sydney as a person, instead of a commodity to pass around.

That's a cliche? Well, I guess I must really like cliches, then! :) Thanks a lot for the kind words -- I'm very glad you enjoyed the story!
