psychotically giddy

Some things to share, hurriedly, while I pack for Burning Man. Pretty emotionally honest too -- little time for the filter to kick in.

Fear is just another duck of urgency. It is the duck that quacks "You'll never have time to fix this mistake!"
But you probably will.

Interesting thought on Fear. There's more there, but I can't put words to it.

But as far as being able to fix the mistake...

When given two options, the duck chooses both because he doesn't want to lose either opportunity. But I think it's lying to oneself to assume that the fork can be revisited - it's a coping mechanism. Isn't it better to accept that the choice has consequences, and that you make the best choice at the time...?

I loved this interview with MJFox.

"'I have enough experience to know that I seem to be pleasing the people who I most want to please. And when Im not pleasing them, Im learning from their disappointment, and it's pushing me in the right direction. So I dont burden myself too much with others' expectations - or even my own expectations. I think your happiness grows in direct proportion to your acceptance, and in inverse proportion to your expectations. ... It's just a matter of putting one foot in front of the other - or doing the next right thing, so to speak'"

=) I'm trying not to think about the sound of crickets around the post; reminding myself that I wrote it for me. Glad you enjoyed it.

Rumi is quite excellent.

Miss you. Hugs.

I knew I forgot something -- I was gonna write a letter to you guys out on the Playa! Ah well. BTW, when people say to live every day as though it was your last day alive, I think they mean to appreciate all that is, not to fear all that is not. When the duck quacks, it's the scarcity in the economy of our lives, rather than the supply -- but never forget the abundance we all have...
