Edward was bundled up, holding onto his bag as he walked, slowly with his head down. It was cold and early and he was going to catch a train out to Osaka. He just needed a break and the opportunity to follow a new lead seemed like a good arrangement. Allen obviously needed time as well.
Edward frowned a little and looked away from him. He could feel the bruise forming on his jaw as it stiffened and he talked. He looked thoughtful. "Alright." He agreed. His train wasn't leaving yet anyway, he was pretty early.
That was surprising; he hadn’t actually expected Ed to agree. Eying the red mark on Ed’s jaw from where he’d punched him, he flexed his hand a bit, finding that his fingers were aching quite a bit. “Uh, this way then.” Turning on his heel, Lavi started heading back to his apartment. He’d probably have to wake Allen, but he hoped it would be worth it, maybe things would get sorted out, even just a little.
He nodded vaguely and stepped after Lavi, keeping his head down as he went back into that sort of fog that had settled over him since Allen cheated on him. Edward wasn't really thinking much about Lavi at all.
Glancing back over his shoulder as they walked, Lavi’s brows knit together as he regarded Ed with an almost sad look; he was suffering too, because of all this, and if he’d have just taken a minute to think he would have noticed that. His heart had had too much say over things recently; he needed to start thinking with his head again.
They reached the apartment building and he pulled his keys out of his back pocket, holding the door open for Ed to move inside.
A nod and Lavi shut the door behind him, moving into the room and dropping his keys and phone on the table. Allen wasn’t in the chair, so he assumed he’d gone through to the bedroom. “Wait here a second.” Walking through to his bedroom, he sat down beside Allen and shook his shoulders gently. “Allen… wake up.”
“Mwah?”, was Allen’s reply to Lavi as he shook his shoulder. His eyes parted slightly and he could tell by the light outside that he hadn’t been asleep that long. He opened his eyes wider and rolled over to face Lavi. “I’m sorry I took your bed. It was comfier than the chair.”, he said sleepily. He had no idea if that was the reason Lavi was waking him but he might as well have taken a guess at it.
He waited patiently in the entrance, looking around a little. Edward was interested in people's homes because he had spent so little in one of his own. He fidgeted with his hands nervously, playing with the strap of his bag as he waited. Maybe this was a bad idea.
Lavi contemplated his next words for a moment before actually saying anything. If he said to Allen that Ed was there and things got worse, he’d feel so much worse than he already did, and the guilt would just add to everything else he was feeling. There was a chance things would go right for a change as well though. And he found that he was willing to take that risk. “Come through to the front room with me?” He didn’t say why, it would make Allen hesitate, instead he smiled and offered a hand to the younger male.
Allen didn’t question Lavi. He had been so nice to him over the last few hours that he couldn’t have refused Lavi’s gesture if he tried. “If you say so”, he replied, taking Lavi’s hand and slowly heaving himself into a sitting position.
He just sat for a few moments to stop his vision from spinning. He was still exhausted but not nearly as bad as he was before he first fell asleep. When his vision had focussed, he stood up, yawned and slowly shuffled towards the door and into the living room.
He took a glance around the room absently. Kitchen, books, door, Ed, chair… He suddenly stopped in his tracks and his eyes felt as if they were bulging from their sockets. “E-Ed? W-what are youdoinghere!?”, he said, speeding up as he reached the end of the sentence. Lavi had left Allen in the apartment alone and come back with Ed? What was this diabolical scheme?
Allen turned and looked around the room to make sure it was him Ed was talking to. Once he had come to the conclusion that no one else was there he turned back. He thought of shouting at Lavi but thought that it might insult Ed. “I-I’m fine”. He was momentarily speechless. He noticed the bruise forming on Ed’s face in the shape of a fist. Had someone hit him? “Are you ok? Your face…”
Allen ran to the freezer and grabbed a bag of frozen peas, returning, he pressed it against Ed’s face himself. “Why did you come to see me?”, he whispered into his ear. Not so Lavi wouldn’t hear but more because it seemed more appropriate.
Edward flushed a little. "I've been worried about you. I know you were upset. I'm really sorry you're upset Allen. I didn't want that to happen. Lavi asked me to come along, so I did."
He let his bag slide off of his shoulder and land on the ground with a gentle thud. He'd stay for a little while if Allen wanted.
Allen didn’t take notice that Ed had only came because Lavi had asked him too. He bit his bottom lip nervously for a few moments then threw his arms around Ed’s back and hugged him tightly. He didn’t want him to leave. He never wanted him to leave.
After a few moments he let go of Ed and looked towards his feet. “I’m really sorry that I hung up on you. I don’t know what I was thinking but I had been doing enough crying and didn’t want to start over the phone”. He went a slight shade of red having basically admitted he was a crybaby and waited patiently for Ed to respond.
"It's...alright." Edward replied, despite the slight hesitation. That wasn't entirely true, because Allen didn't get to be the only one upset, and hanging up on him had ignited the very anger he'd been trying to quell. The problem with discussing this was that he was walking on eggshells, finding Allen currently unpredictable and that he didn't like.
Ed was about order and a fight for control. Something unpredictable was difficult. It's not that he wanted to control Allen, but he wanted to feel free to express himself and at that point, he didn't. He found himself having to make it all about Allen which didn't quite sit well with him.
He did not want to be cruel, so he kept his voice even and gentle. "Allen, I'm not sure we're ready for this conversation."
He sighed and just walked, dazed.

"Are you alright?" Ed asked, his brow furrowed with worry. He ignored the rest of his problems, such as the budding bruise on his chin.
