Location: Hitachiin twins' apartment.

Summary: Whilst preparing for their parents' New Years party, Hikaru finally dredges up the courage to ask Kaoru why he's been so distant as of late.

There was a long moment before Kaoru responded, and Hikaru found his eyebrows drawing together. Just as he was about to open his mouth and say something else, though, his twin finally spoke, though the answer he gave was vague at best.

Still. If he'd gotten into a fight with Allen, that would explain his recent behaviour. Kaoru had been much closer friends with Allen than he had. "Yeah?" Standing, he moved around to his twin and kissed his cheek lightly, then smiled to him. "What about?"

"Oh." A slightly blank look when Kaoru moved away, and Hikaru sighed, leaning back against the dresser a bit. His twin was looking nervous, uncomfortable, and while he wished Kaoru would just talk to him and tell him what was wrong, he also didn't want to push him. "Well... I'm sure you guys will be fine." Then a smile, and he pushed away from the dresser, heading toward the door. "Come on, Okaasan's expecting us..."
